Nominator's rationale: delete, utterly confusing categories, they contain burial sites of families of which some members ruled a fief in the Holy Roman Empire and some other members of that family were (often in another period) kings of another country. The result of the discussion was: split, leaving a {{Category disambiguation}} template. – Fayenatic London 10:05, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: This category is primarily articles about psychoacoustics with some articles about other hearing concepts mixed in. Which makes sense, because to my knowledge, auditory perception has two meanings: hearing and psychoacoustics. This also means that, even if the category is purged, it's destined to become a mess again.

A quick note, I'm not fully across perception as a topic, so there may be nuances that I'm missing. However, "nuance" isn't a great starting point for unambiguous categorisation. -- Xurizuri (talk) 13:35, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Merge performed in the reverse of the nomination and soft redirect set up; sources support "Mick." (non-admin closure) UnitedStatesian (talk) 03:10, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: procedural nomination, the creation of the category was an out-of-process move, see Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2021_October_25#Category:Songs_written_by_Mike_Leeson. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:20, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment We usually don't 'play registrar' and change established historical nicknames like 'Mick' to the more frequent form 'Mike'. Next time we nominate Mick Jagger as well? Or is he as the only exception worthy of 'Mick'? Even in my home town there is an old blues musician and bandleader who is proud of naming his band Mick Schwarz Band. Must be a time-related preference, maybe indeed refering to the idolized Stones frontman. Please finish this revenant nomination by Reverse merging to Mick Leeson. --Just N. (talk) 22:42, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Oculi, Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars, and Justus Nussbaum: so far one source has been quoted (in the 2016 discussion) using "Mike". The wikipedia articles are mostly using "Mick" though. It may be helpful for the discussion to quote more sources. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:17, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Matching other subcategories of Category:Show business families where no other prominent family of the same name has an article. Mike Selinker (talk) 18:00, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - Similar to Peterkingiron I'd expect users to add people articles just because of the same surname if we'd shorten the category wording. Better to keep the existing which is much more without any doubt. Gibb is not a rare familyname indeed. --Just N. (talk) 22:50, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
